My wedding style was developed from working for established Southern California photographers. I also draw from my own experience as an event photographer. My style can be termed loosely as "Photo Journalism," but this does not imply that the photography is haphazard in any way. The client and I decide in advance what shots we want and I try to get those shots. There is an element of chance however. Weddings do not always go as rehearsed and the most exciting, most memorable weddings have an element of spontaneity to them. In the end, we get what shots are there to be had.

Many weddings today are held at a wedding facility; their schedules demand that all the photography be done quickly. Call this the photojournal aspect of the work. On shooting the complete party however, or for example, the groom and his men, I pose these shots with great care and take as many variations as circumstances permit. This is when my style becomes more "Classic" in nature.

I almost always shoot with a second-shooter. Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. For a true Photojournalism approach, two photographers- one in the forefront, but another in the background, acting unobtrusively, are necessary to capture the special moments of the day. Regardless of the two-shooter method, my wedding prices are lower than those of many other photographers.
